Brave New World

One aspect of this book that I think people may have found very disturbing in the 1930s and even today, is how everyone belongs to everyone else. For people in the 1930s to read this book about how relationships are not important in Huxley's society and people are more focused on the physical part of a man and woman would have been very apalled and angry. Back in the 1930s people were very focused on finding that one person and staying with them for a lifetime. They were very loyal and viewed relationships as a very important part of life. Even today although people are much more open to dating and view relationships as just a part of life and not as serious as the 1930s were, would view Huxley's society as disturbing. People would read this book and be in shock just like our AP english class is.
